Description

Alina Kozoriz got her Bachelor degree in Biotechnology at Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University in July 2016 with a thesis entitled "The model of food protection against pathogenic strains of E. coli using bacteriophage T7". She then got the Master degree in Biology at University of Geneva in October 2019 with a thesis entitled "Genetic inactivation of the mitochondrial pyruvate carrier in astrocytes and in dopaminergic neurons: effects in murine models of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases". Alina is now a PhD student in Desagher’s group at the CNRS – IGMM in Montpellier, France.

Alina is working on the regulation of α-synuclein expression by TRIM17 and TRIM41 in Parkinson’s Disease. TRIM17 inhibits TRIM41-mediated ubiquitination/degradation of the transcription factor ZSCAN21. The goal is to find a way to prevent the inhibitory effect of TRIM17 on TRIM41- mediated ubiquitination and degradation of ZSCAN21.
